Checking out all of the job opportunities this month makes me wish I was graduating in 2011! Alas, I have one more year of school left, so hopefully many of you can take advantage of the plethora of multimedia openings that I have highlighted here. Happy job hunting!


Interactive Producers (3) at USA Today in Tysons, VA

USA TODAY is seeking a creative, technically skilled producer to help conceive, direct and build interactive news graphics and applications that inform and delight our readers. You’ll work with developers, photographers, reporters and editors who are among the nation’s best journalists, taking complex material — data, text, images — and using it to tell a visual, interactive story. Your portfolio should have examples of interactives you’ve built and the technical skills you used — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, PhotoShop, Illustrator, mapping tools, etc. Ability to be creative in a fast-paced environment is a must, as is the ability to coordinate diverse workgroups, quickly gather information and set and maintain deadlines. Strong writing and editing skills desired. We cover topics from news to finance to sports to entertainment, so we’ll be on the lookout for someone with wide interests who stays current on events in the news.

Interactive Web Designer at Emerging Blue in San Francisco, CA

Looking for a creative professional with experience as a interactive web designer, art director, or creative director.

Junior to Mid-level Flash Designer at Prudential in Newark, NJ

Multimedia Specialist at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV

West Virginia University (University Relations -News) is seeking a multimedia producer to join a collaborative, creative, award-winning team.

This position is responsible for contributing to and producing a variety of cross-platform media projects, with an emphasis on the visual component, and initiating innovative content delivery related to news events. This position is key in the Division’s integrated communication model, and is responsible for developing and managing multimedia products and content, including video, audio and photos, often serving as a project lead for carrying out strategic messaging assignments for the University. The producer will also be called upon to assist UR/News in meeting its still photography responsibilities to the broader University community.
